Glow Langley

Baby, it’s cold outside! So, why not stay in your vehicle and keep things festive? Pack the car with family and friends, and see the lights at Glow Langley. Instead of walking, you’ll be driving through a winter wonderland filled with things to look at. See the towering light gardens, head to the North Pole (yes, you’ll see Santa!), and go through magical landscapes. Purchase tickets ahead of time set your car radio to Glow’s exclusive station, and stay cozy while you look at millions of lights at one of our favourite Christmas events in BC.
Bear Creek Park Christmas Train
Trains are a quintessential park of Christmastime, and this is one of the BC events and festivals that takes you for a ride. Bear Creek Park is filled with lights and festive decorations, which is all capped off by boarding a train that takes you to Santa himself. So have hot chocolate, listen to holiday music, make a Christmas craft, and get a selfie with Santa. There are so many things to do at the park that it’s a must-see event.
Cloverdale Christmas Trees

Head to the Museum of Surrey to look at the Cloverdale Christmas Trees. Not only is the event free, but local organizations decorated the trees for a friendly competition. You can cast your vote at the museum or do so online. And, if you don’t want to leave home, take a virtual tour of the trees so that you can choose your favourite. Voting also serves as your entry to potentially win a $100 Cloverdale shopping spree. Don’t miss it!
Heritage Christmas at the Burnaby Village Museum
Holiday villages are an earmark of the Christmas season, and the Burnaby Village Museum capitalizes on this fact. The village will have seasonal festivities, such as lights, decorations, and sculptures. There is also a carousel ride that only costs $2.65 to ride! The activities — a wandering gingerbread man, singers, jugglers, a scavenger hunt, and more — are plentiful. You definitely don’t want to miss all of the events in BC happening during Heritage Christmas.
Holidays on the Block

If you love Christmas markets, head to Holidays on the Block, which lasts for only 12 days during December (it ends on the 24th, so there’s plenty of time). The market has artisans and makers, food trucks, holiday festivities, various entertainers, and Santa Claus, of course! Part of the $5 entry fee goes towards charity, and kids under six are free. So get in the Christmas spirit, shop, and dine all at this fun BC Christmas event.
This Wonderful Life
The movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, is a holiday classic. See Clarence the Angel, George Bailey, and grumpy Mr. Potter in this stage adaptation called This Wonderful Life. The incredible thing is that all of the roles are filled by one person! If you haven’t seen a one-person show, this is your chance to experience a heartwarming show under the guidance of a single actor.
